One of the ways Dude and Chica’s growing age shows is by how they treat the playground slides.
They used to need our help and coaxing to make it down even the small ones. These days, they climb right up and before we utter a word proceed to zoom right on down… only stopping to clap for themselves before continuing on to another!

Her toddler obsession is not toys or games or books. Instead she sneaks away and steal moments to work on what it is she loves.
Organizing the little things that make up her life.
Stacking blocks, putting toys in order, packing away leaves into their buckets. We watch her order her small little world and we get the joy of having a glimpse into the woman she will become!

Summer time is for swimming away the days…
and wrestling with daddy… and laying out on burning hot cement to dry until you just cannot take it- only to jump back in again.

I haven’t posted anything about sweet Piper in a very long time. Grey hair under the chin has not slowed her down one bit. We had some great friends in town this weekend who shot a few photos of her for us so she could join our family photo wall… It will be nice to have her up there with us!

She sits there in the sand- building & creating something that we do not understand. The waves crash in time and time again, shifting the sand, messing up her plan. She looks up to me and then out to the vast ocean and says, “no, no…. stop….” as if she can hold them back with her word.
I sigh, thinking how much this little girl is just like me.

Last month we had visits from grammy, papa & my lovely, lovely dear friend all in one weekend. We splashed in the waves together, ate burritos and enjoyed being blessed by having such wonderful people to love on us!

He loves to walk around in his daddy’s shoes, tripping all the way and feeling on top of the world!

One of the reasons I love this city is the joy it brings my kids to live here.
We are thoroughly enjoying our zoo membership these days.
I swear she wanted to jump right in! Seriously, they get to grow up with ostriches and polar bears around on a weekly basis- it is so cool! This city is amazing for them. *like*

We attended our first wedding this weekend as a family. Missed nap and all, they twins did great! Plus, I got to overhear the Mr. explaining to Chica how special it will be when he walks her down the aisle one day… My heart seriously did explode- right there in the middle of the chapel!

It is by far her favorite word to say-fishies, fishes, fishies! We went to see them in the big aquarium and she giggled every time the stingray would swim by. She would have stood right there for the rest of her life if we would have allowed for it.
